Unable to use wan port on any new software version (last known working LEDE version is r3466-f6907dc).
DHCP is not getting ip address. After setting up static ip address there is no network communication.

I’ve gave a try to “trunk” build from 30 DEC on WL500GPv1 (brcm47xx - legacy). It generally works but swap-related things appear to be broken in trunk. At least some builds before this date also known to suffer from same problem.

To reproduce, easiest way:
1) Install trunk on WL500GP V1.
2) Install zram-swap script (opkg update; opkg install zram-swap).
3) Observe what happens.
4) Try to enable swap on zram manually to see what happens.

Result:
- When install of zram-swap script finishes, swap activation fails with the following: block: failed to swapon /dev/zram0 (-1)
- Exactly same issue if I try to mkswap & swapon manually or use my own custom scripting to bring up zram swap, etc (these were known to work earlier/in other systems).



I can see “zram” module is loaded, accepted all parameters, mkswap succeeds, but swapon always fails with obscure -1 error. Same for attempt to swapoff, etc. Seems that “block” thing backfires or so?

So, I think, swap module was accidentally turned off during building firmware, because OpenWRT build version 18.06 works fine!

Quick overview, about a year ago I posted this https://forum.openwrt.org/t/multiple-dhcpv6-wan-interfaces-connection-loss/42056 which gives a detailed overview of what was attempted.

Setting up an alias WAN interface to get multiple /64 prefixes causes them to drop their prefixes ever hour. Setting up multiple WAN interfaces on the same physical interface causes the older one to drop its prefix after an hour while the other works fine.

Steps to reproduce:
Create an alias interface and have it ask for a second prefix from an upstream router

I have a TP-Link RE450 v1 wireless repeater running OpenWrt SNAPSHOT r6257-94a3af88f3 that I want to set up to extend a network running on a DFS-channel. I am able to connect to the main network in client mode - it is hosted on a NETGEAR R7800 running OpenWrt SNAPSHOT r6150-dc7a1e8555 (hnyman’s latest build). However, the repeating network refuses to start up. This is the guide I followed to set up the relayd-based relay (Luci GUI method): https://openwrt.org/docs/user-guide/wifi/relay_configuration

When following the same method to set up a non-DFS channel everything works as it should.

Hi!

The problem is that the card registers to network in a weird way and thus the mbim.sh script stops and doesn’t continue attaching to network, ...

The problem has been detected on a Huawei EchoLife HG556a (version C) but seems a general problem.

Also, the problem was with a ID 12d1:1f16 Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. K5150 LTE modem but I believe that it can happens on other mbim devices as well.

I believe the problem is more related to the fact that the SIM is from a virtual movile operator which is then using the network from the real operator: Orange, but we didn’t test any other SIMs, so we don’t know if this is more general, if needed we could try to get some other SIMs for testing.

The problem is that when we do the network registration with umbim it gives an error, so it stops there, so we tried to remove that check like this:

Network connection works ok like this and we can access Inet without any problem.

So... either umbim is not exiting with the right exit code, maybe because of that unknown status it says there, or if the exit code is ok, then we should somehow do farder tests and continue like we did, as the connection is good anyway.

This was also tested using latest available snapshot builds with the same results, we have gone back to stable (these logs are from 19.07.4) as the snapshot build was having trouble with the wifi on this router, but the umbim problem and the solution we applied worked the same on snapshot as it does on stable.

Usecase:
As a web developer I would benefit from having the possibility to send events from the server to the browser so the browser can react to it dynamically.

The proposed implementation is the leanest possible.

A SSE (Server-Sent Event) is a simple protocol on top of basic http polling to send messages from the http server to the browser for the purpose of instant notifications.
It comes implemented in all major browsers, including mobile.

If paired with `ubus listen` or `ubus monitor`, a seamless integration with the ubus pipeline could be implemented.

We tried to implement it by adding an option in this line of code but got stuck in our lack of corutine mechanisms and how uhttpd works.

The difference with the call and list options is that this one should be long-lived and progressive, preventing the dreaded polling from the web (also, better us of resources, more elegant implementation, etc).

As an example, a very basic implementation of a SSE server in php:

Install luci-ssl. It will configure uhttpd to listen on port 443 and redirect http to https. In particular, it will add to /etc/config/uhttpd:

 option redirect_https '1'

However, the semantics of this redirect are wrong if a non-self-signed certificate is used.

In particular, it is now a boolean option, and always gets the redirect target from the Host: header. That is, it redirects http://192.168.1.1/ to https://192.168.1.1/, and, assuming that openwrt.mydomain.ru resolves to 192.168.1.1, it will also redirect http://openwrt.mydomain.ru/ to https://openwrt.mydomain.ru/.

What I want is a string option that specifies the domain for redirects. I.e., I should be able to set something like this:

 option redirect_https_domain 'openwrt.mydomain.ru'

and then both http://192.168.1.1/ and http://openwrt.mydomain.ru/ and http://anything.that.resolves.to.192.168.1.1.com/ should redirect to https://openwrt.mydomain.ru/.

I was having trouble building uClibc++ in Openwrt. I figured out that the problem was that the LIBSUP_DEP variable, which is a filename that gets created during the build, was too long for my file system. The name generated was over 150 char long and my fs has a limit of 143. I guess this because I have an encrypted homedir. Anyway, I analyzed the build system of uClibc++, and it seems to vary with the file location for libsupc++.a which is used to extract a bunch of symbols and create the static lib.

I had configured my build to build for a Turris Omnia.

Software versions: master branch of OpenWrt

Steps to reproduce:
1. Configure to build image for Turris Omnia.
2. Build with: `make package/libs/uclibc++/compile -j1 V=sc`

My proposed fix: https://bugs.busybox.net/show_bug.cgi?id=12951

If this patch get’s accepted upstream, we should add a patch to package/libs/uclibc++/patches/ for this.

Return pointer from realloc may not be the same as ptr→s. Due to realloc mechanism, pointers value from ptr→s→options are copied to the ptr→last. However, those pointers (ptr→last→s→options) are pointing back to the ptr→s which has been freed.

ucert -A generates something that ucert cannot read back.

This happens because ucert -A appears to be appending several libubox “blobs” together, but cert_load() uses libubox’ blob_parse_untrusted() which expects to get a buffer with a single blob inside, and no padding.

Thus a valid ucert file with certificate and signature will be *bigger* than the first blob inside it, and blob_parse_untrusted() in libubox won’t even try to process it.

Since this renders ucert useless, severity is set to high.

I have a pair of Nanostation Loco M2 access points setup as a wireless bridge over a ~1300 foot (~400M) line of sight link.
I have had LEDE 17.01.3, 17.0.4 and OpenWrt SNAPSHOT r5499-575178e / LuCI Master (git-17.343.27587-8e6b1a6).

One is setup as a WDS AP and the other is setup as a WDS Client, after a few hours (4-12 hours?) the link drops out but still says that is connected (if I go to status it shows the other AP as connected but I cannot ping or do anything else across the link).
If I restart the wireless service on the client, the connection comes right back and all is well for a 4-12 hours.

This bug has been existing as long as the ubiquiti loco xw 5 ghz hardware is around, probably what we are dealing with is a hardware bug in the AR9342 Rev. 2 chip. It is somehow hard to reproduce, but it hits us reliable every couple of hours, sometimes days, running any version of OpenWrt up to todays master branch. It just happened again and this time I decided to check if the bug is actually listed on FS – in addition to creating the usual cron-job executing `iw dev wlan0 scan` every minute. There is even a watchdog in the community libremesh repository designed to catch exactly this bug:

So to run into it, here we got 2 ubiquiti nanobeam m5 devices running OpenWrt ar71xx/generic loco-m-xw pointing at each other over a distance of roughly 2km. This link is acceptable, but not perfect and slightly asymmetric.

Now it so happens that device A (and always only device A!) becomes deaf after some hours of mostly sending lots of traffic to device B. It will continue to send beacons, but loose all associations. device B will keep trying setting up a link, but it keeps ending up in ‘BLOCKED’ state and dumps using a monitor mode interface show that device A simply doesn’t react at all to any of the frames send by device B. A simple `iw dev wlan0 scan` on device A (which doesn’t give any results) fixes the problem.

The channel seems rather unused otherwise and signal quality only varies by weather conditions. Interestingly this seems to happen on non-DFS channels only. And it happens on Ad-Hoc mode (unencrypted, never tried encrypted) and 802.11s (open ie. setup via `iw` tool as well as with SAE ie. running `wpa_supplicant`) equally. It doesn’t happen on all nodes, but only on those with rather bad signal or at least one far-off neighbor.

I saw this occuring on ubnt nanostation loco m5 XW as well as on all nanobeam m5 variants (which is supposedly compatible with the loco-m-xw image).

On https://openwrt.org/toh/ubiquiti/ubiquiti_edgerouter_x_er-x_ka there is an explanation of how to install OpenWRT on an EdgeRouter X using the tools that are standard installed on it and are used by Ubiquiti to upgrade the firmware. It seems as part of the build process a openwrt-ramips-mt7621-ubnt-erx-initramfs-factory.tar file is generated that can be used for that. But it seems you can not download it from the official site, you need to build it yourself. On the official site is an openwrt-18.06.1-ramips-mt7621-ubnt-erx-initramfs-kernel.bin file. I think that file can be used for installing using tftp, but it can’t be used with the Ubiquiti tools. Can the initramfs-factory.tar be made available to download?

For the last month or so, and persisting in r2248, when a Ubiquiti Bullet M is booted through typical Ubiquiti 10/100 passive PoE injector, the interface appears to come up in gigabit mode (see timestamp 18.990274 below), despite being only a 10/100 Mbps interface. Restarting /etc/init.d/network fixes it. I am running batman-adv over the ethernet interface, which may be involved. I will check if it happens when batman-adv is not used on the interface and report in a followup comment.

After an hour or so of usage, the router reboots itself with a corrupted filesystem. I’ve attached the log to this bug report. The log contains:

__nand_correct_data: uncorrectable ECC error

so I think there might be a link with the similar problem that the BT HomeHub Version 5A had a long time ago, as per:

Steps to reproduce: Plug a USB 3.0 external HDD to USB 3.0 port of any openwrt 18.06 device and check speed when copying a file to the external HDD, it should be around 100+ MBps

Hi,
after building 18.06.2 OpenWrt version and his nand flash u-boot (U-Boot 2017.03-linux4sam_5.8 (Jan 30 2019 - 12:21:02 +0000)) when u-boot try to uncompress lzma kernel image the following error is reached

Checking into u-boot (make menuconfig) seems that lzma cannot be set , only LZ4 is provided.

Also the option to change compression type of the kernel do not work. I try to switch from default (gzip) to LZ4 but kernel uimage is always lzma compressed.

Could you provide some hint to unlock the situation ?

Another strange things is :

Error: ethernet@f0028000 address not set.
No ethernet found.

f0028000 is memory address of GMAC that is not provided in sama5d31 SoC but the curious is the next No ethernet found.

Does it mean that nor EMAC was found ?

configure txpower on primary ath9k interface to some value other than maximum reported
make configurations of secondary device
apply configurations or run command from console: wifi

first interface is set again to max txpower

this issue seems to exist since barrier breaker!

1: RC4 and 3DES are used when both have security issues. Actually the latter also is true of mbedtls/polarssl.

2: Only TLS 1.2 is supported. This makes multiple clients unable to connect.

BTW, I got this working after modifying the Makefile to luci-ssl to depend on libustream-openssl instead. No idea what the situation is but so far it works without a problem.

“OpenWrt SNAPSHOT, r11595-5d2a900163”

Steps to reproduce:
- install OpenWrt master (r11595-5d2a900163) via medkit; hold reset-button on powerup till 4 LEDs are flashing
- wait till OpenWrt is installed
- login
- “cd /tmp” - “wget http://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots/targets/mvebu/cortexa9/openwrt-mvebu-cortexa9-cznic_turris-omnia-sysupgrade.img.gz” - “sysupgrade -n openwrt-mvebu-cortexa9-cznic_turris-omnia-sysupgrade.img.gz” - following output will come up

but makes tty output noisy when procd debug level selected (3 or 4 for me).

noise examples:
