ISP is Free (France)

“Wan” interface, IPV4, with Dchp client protocol is up and works fine on physical interface dsl0.836.
Mac address has to be overriden because ISP uses a fixed mac address, different for each Freebox, it’s own dsl modem/box.

“Wan6”, IPV6, interface with 6rd protocol is up but the mac reported in the not the same as those reported in “Wan” interface.

As you could see on the attached capture of the “Interfaces overview”, the mac address reported is the “Wan” IpV4 address !!!

Wan6 interface is up but frames are rejected by ISP because the mac address is not those one expected as for “Wan” interface. Mac address can’t be overriden on these interface.

Supply the following if possible:
- Device problem occurs on R7800
- Software versions of OpenWrt 18.06/Trunk

Firstly ,I found my ps4 download speed only 100mbps,so I’ve run iperf3
The lan rx work in problem ,tx works no problem.
One pair rx only 18mbps ten pair rx only 100mbps but tx can run in 1gbps.

So I change to offical 18.06.2 banch,rx is 400mbps ,tx is 1Gbps. Still in problem.
After I compile trunk banch ,it also WIP as 18.06 banch.

This problem also mentioned in FS#1598

This is 100 % reproducible with a fresh and unchanged installation of OpenWRT 18.06.2 on a GL-Inet GL-AR150, and it gave me quite some headache until I found out what’s happening here:

If a LAN cable is plugged during the device’s boot process and one does a DHCP request when it’s ready, the router offers an IPv4 address (as expected) and one can access it on 192.168.1.1. This is also the case for a DHCP request via WLAN, as soon as one does enable it.

If however the device is powered up without a LAN cable being plugged, no IPv4 address will be offered, neither for a LAN nor for a WLAN connection. One can connect to the router via the IPv6 address to be found in /etc/resov.conf (on the client) though, but not via IPv4. This is also the case if a LAN cable is plugged after booting.

Looking at /var/etc/dnsmasq.conf.cfg01411c, it does contain the line

  dhcp-range=set:lan,192.168.1.100,192.168.1.249,255.255.255.0,12h

if a LAN cable has been plugged during bootup, and no such entry if none has been plugged.

This makes the device completely unusable for what I intend to use it ... as this happens with a completely unaltered, fresh installation, I suppose this is no misconfiguration but a bug?

One of 5 EA3500’s, each at a different site, keeps crashing and restarting. Both 18.06.2 and Snapshot r9614-b614954 are suffering it at this particular site. I could finally keep it booting up after disabling radio1 (5 GHz). Other 4 sites have no trouble with the same system and wireless configuration.

I can pretty much rule out hardware problems. Just boot up Snapshot r9614-b614954 on an EA4500, whose radio1 (5G) worked on another site. It suffers the same infinite crash/restart sequence. At least 3 different devices worked at different locations, but crash only at this one.

The current code responsible for upgrading devices with sysupgrade image, doesn’t take in to the account that “FIS” partition and “RedBoot config” partition can be on the same erase block. This can cause erasing the “RedBoot config” partition and make the device inoperable. The recovery would involve external SPI programmer or usage of JTAG.

The cause is still assumption so it will need confirmation. Flashing devices with factory image should be safe.

   jjPlus JA76PF2
   Adtran BSAP1880, BSAP1800 V2 and BSAP1840

finally I found a configuration that does not put the router in an endless reboot loop but that nevertheless crashes the kernel in the same way when issuing the reboot command:

...and presto, there’s nothing in /overlay. /rom/overlay is populated. I have found no way to write anything on /overlay. Luci can’t save anything either – not even a password.

There’s nothing weird in my make menuconfig config, unless you count python3-light, bind-dig, ca-certificates, etc. as weird. And the other C7 and C7-like models work fine.

Hello, I have xiaomi router 3g, I installed OpenWrt v18 and everything perfect, perfect speed, perfect management (although improvable) etc ...
The problem comes when upgrading to v19.07 and v19.07.1, the router’s upload speed low by half (wired 600mbs v18) v19 300mbs upload speed .... it looks like a bug and it happens to many people , is there any solution to this? Is it possible to improve the router driver and improve the upload and full management of v19? thanks.

According to the hardware support list, D-link DIR-885L HW A1 is supported, therefore, I have acquired one in China, it clearly stated the HW revision is A1 but its WIFI is not supported with the original firmware 19.07.1

after I flashed the firmware in discovery mode , the wireless tab is not shown in the system. Checked wifi configuration and the file was empty. I found there’s another driver for A2 hardware in the product page, I downloaded it, put it in the designated directory, restarted the router and my wifi appears.

but the driver doesn’t work well. The 2.4g (radio0) can not be started most of the time, some time I alter the configuration of radio0 might bring it up, but even I’ve managed to find the SSID, I can’t connect it. always prompt wrong password.

the 5g (radio1) is better. if I fix the channel, restart the router every time I change the configuration (even change password), it usually make the router works.

I think the Device sold in China is different from other area, the default firmware (which supports A1) doesn’t support Chinese A1 hardware, the A2 firmware driver (BCM4366c) supports the Chinese A1 hardware but doesn’t work well since the driver was dated 2017.

with this BCM4366C driver provided in A2 firmware, I can only have 5G fix Channel WPA2 security wifi service, it’s usable, but all other function are not working, not even one.

I opened the router, tried to provide the chip information but the chips are covered by metal jacket and fixed to the mother board. I have manufacture’s original latest firmware, I think the proper driver may be extracted from it but I’m not capable to do it. I can provide the file as requested. Can’t post here, the file is too big.

I was using CLAT in an Archer C7 v5 for some testing. Everything worked fine.

I decided then to upgrade to 19.07.1 and everything works fine from the backup that I did from the config, but not the CLAT (464XLAT).

I decided to reflash the unit from scratch and configure everything manually. Same problem, CLAT is not working. I tried even setting the tunnel link to the WAN interface manually in the CLAT interface (advanced settings), instead of the default “unspecified”, played with the firewall settings as well, etc. Nothing resulted.

By the way, even in 18.06.7, which I’m using right now with the CLAT, the CLAT interface doesn’t report any RX/TX or packets. In the same router I’ve installed Collectd and I can see there the traffic being graphed correctly.

So I’m guessing there is some bug there. I’m going to report it as a bug, but just in case someone discovered an easy solution.

I’ve observed that at some point, across numerous tests, a Virtual dynamic interface 464XLAT was created, but it doesn’t allow to edit it, so not sure if this is related. I believe this interface is only created when I’m using PPPoE for the WAN link (I’ve tested 2 scenarios, PPPoE done in the OpenWRT box and PPPoE done in the GPON ONT).

This *might* be the same bug as  bug 691  (https://bugs.openwrt.org/index.php?do=details&task_id=691), or at least related.

Rooting around in the junk box I found a dismantled and bricked WHR-600D, not sure why or how it got into that state but I would have been tinkering with it in the Chaos Calmer era so possibly could not get it working at the time.

However I decided it would be a useful upgrade to a WHR-HP-G300N that I have covering a corner of the house - especially as that only has 4MB flash/32MB ram so is not really suitable for modern versions of OpenWRT

But... no dice

I successfully got half a serial console (I think the 600D’s rx pin is hosed) and got an initramfs image booted and flashed 19.07.1 - subsequent to that I compiled trunk from source but the behaviour is the same.

The RT5592 is not initialized - it is not “mis-detected” as a 2.4GHz only interface (although the unused MT7620A WiFi interface *is* detected as phy1).

iw list only gives phy1 although I think that is unused/unconnected on this router (AFAICS the two antenna connect only into the RT5592) - I can’t try the images that Mathias Kresin posted in the previous bug report as the links are now dead but I see that the two commits that were made to the WHR-600D and RP-N53 dts files don’t seem to have been accidentally reverted.

Also tried 18.06.7 but that just crashes with:

correct (less than expected).
Device never boot with them.

Installing current trunk esults in bootloop.
First I tried to install it over stock firmware with recovery/tftp but it was stuck in bootloop.
Then I reinstalled 19.07.02 via recovery/tftp - which worked fine.
After that, I tried to install trunk via recovery/tftp, but it also gave bootloop.

The symptoms looks like the ones mentioned below. The problem was fixed, and maybee the same solution is missing in trunk

After an hour or so of usage, the router reboots itself with a corrupted filesystem. I’ve attached the log to this bug report. The log contains:

__nand_correct_data: uncorrectable ECC error

so I think there might be a link with the similar problem that the BT HomeHub Version 5A had a long time ago, as per:

https://bugs.openwrt.org/index.php?do=details&task_id=245 (”Lede won’t boot on HHB5”)

and

http://openwrt.ebilan.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=133#p1022 (post by Mathias Kresin / mkresin who fixed the problem with the Home Hub 5A)

I bought a private ip from my ISP and can’t connect with the private APN, only the dynamic IP APN works.

With ModemManager the connection to my Private APN works as expected, so no fault on ISP side.
With crosscompile Quectel-cm to OpenWRT, the connection with qmi protocol to my Private APN works as expected, so no fault on ISP side.

I’m using Linksys wrt3200 as router behind cable modem with a dslite configuration and Devolo 1200+ DinRail connected to one of the LAN ports.

Previuos configuration was provider cable modem connected to Devolo and it was working fine (up to 50-100 mbit up and download to all DLAN devices.

After swiching to Linksys and OpenWRT I noticed that download speed for IPv4 dropped to 2-3 MBit for all devices. Upload and IPv6 work fine.

Thought it was dslite problem but provider router works fine and if I connect to Linksys directly via WLAN the download speed is as expected...

Repatched with Linksys stock firmware without changing anything else stable up and download speeds in expected range for ip4/ip6.

Patched openwrt back - ipv4 download drop to 2Mbit, back to stock back to normal speed...

Assume it’s potentially an MTU setting for LAN interface but all values I tried did not change much...

Would appreciate any help. Would be pity to fall back to stock but if it’s the only option...

- Steps to reproduce: I join the device to the network with either ethernet or wifi and the router would shortly crash. I simply reboot the router and connect the macbook via ethernet or wifi after the router is up. I would then run a speedtest (it’s not related to any particular activity, but I just use speedtest.net as a control)
- Attempts at trying to remedy issue: I tried disabling IPv6 on the router and macbooks. I signed out of icloud. I updated Macbooks to MacOS Catalina. I tried flashing router to latest stable release 19.07.3. The network only dies when these Macbook Airs connect to the network, all other devices don’t have any issues. Prior to this router, I had a Netgear AC1900 (R7000) running DD-WRT which never had this issue.

- Versions where bug is present: OpenWRT snapshots, tested with r13938 and r18039.

- Affected device: D-Link DIR-878 and likely others from its family.

- What does it do and shouldn’t do: the ethernet interfaces randomly get switched on/off, dropping the link and resetting the connection. Troubleshooting has already been thoroughly conducted to rule out other causes, see below. This is critical severity because makes OpenWRT unusable in these devices.

- Steps to reproduce:
– flash the snapshot image on a D-Link DIR-878;
– configure the WAN (tested with PPPoE and DHCP protocols) and LAN interfaces (tested with Static and DHCP protocols) - using all interfaces will increase the likelihood that at least one of them will present the behaviour;
– wait an indefinite but reasonable (< 2h for all instances so far) amount of time;
– the interface will randomly be put down and then up a couple seconds later, and it will be randomly looping up/down states at random amounts of time.

- Troubleshooting already conducted: full and detailed troubleshooting history is present at this forum thread. Please let me know if I can provide further information.

- Additional info: some people are having WiFi issues with MT7621 family devices that might be related to this one if they share a common cause, such as a possible race condition in the drivers;

1. Download the latest version OpenWrt 19.07.2 to Edimax 3G-6200n.
2. Set e.g. the password to the router and/or turn on the WiFi.
3. Reboot the router with the reboot option in OpenWrt.
4. The router has no settings previously saved - the status is as right after installing fresh OpenWRT - no password, no WiFi enabled, default settings.

This is device independent and I think it affects all versions but I have seen this over 19.07. If you have binary programs that conflicts with busybox ones, opkg sets them to be used instead when they are installed.

I discovered this because mwan3 got broke and investigating the error it dropped the problems seems to be that the ip binary from busybox doesn’t support some features mwan3 needs. I could find that I had ip installed as is a dependency of mwan3 so I just remembered that busybox was updated recently.

Just by reinstalling ip the issue was solved.

I don’t know how this could be managed, perhaps just when a package that has alternatives is installed update them and when the package is being upgraded ignore updating the alternatives.

I set this critical just because it could be very difficult to see where the problem is for many people (I surprised myself how it could take so many time to advert the real issue when I found it, it’s simple, but if you don’t notice busybox upgrading could be cumbersome to see), and, this could break things, like for example mwan3 or any other program that rely using alternative binaries and not the busybox ones. Of course fell free to set the severity you think could be more accurate.

Anybody have an ideal to access USB storage at Talon AD72000 with nexmon firmware? lede-ad7200?

Several ways I have tried:

1. search for path like `/mnt/dev` `/dev/`, I can see my usb flash disk led blinking and there show up the device after I insert the disk, but I can NOT cd into the disk

2. install other tool via `opkg`, especially Quick Start for Adding a USB drive, however, the whole OS will crash down when install `kmod-usb-storage` at step 3 and I have to start all over.
