  • Details

The option CONFIG_STRIP_KERNEL_EXPORTS adds “-include symtab.h” for all linker script invokations. See openwrt/include/kernel-defaults.mk:

ifdef CONFIG_STRIP_KERNEL_EXPORTS
  KERNEL_MAKEOPTS += \
        EXTRA_LDSFLAGS="-I$(KERNEL_BUILD_DIR) -include symtab.h"
endif

On recent kernels (4.9.x, arm64 build), linker scripts are used to generate “vdso.lds” at the “make modules” stage.
But the file “symtab.h” is generated later (at the install/image generation stage). See openwrt/include/kernel-build.mk:

  $(LINUX_DIR)/.image: $(STAMP_CONFIGURED) $(if $(CONFIG_STRIP_KERNEL_EXPORTS),$(KERNEL_BUILD_DIR)/symtab.h) FORCE
        $(Kernel/CompileImage)
        $(Kernel/CollectDebug)
        touch $$@

As a result, kernel compilation fails.

  • Sidenotes:

- 32bit arm (brcm2708_bcm2708) is not affected, the vdso stuff is generated by normal .c files

- On arm64 4.4 kernels, the vdso stuff is not compiled for reasons, that I don’t know. Anyway, openwrt-17.01 is not affected

16.01.20181279KernelBug ReportVery LowMediumVRX200 / BT Home Hub 5A does not correctly configure mo...lede-17.01Unconfirmed Task Description

Device: BT Home Hub 5A (xRX200 rev 1.2)
Version: LEDE 17.01.4
Kernel: 4.4.92 / swconfig: 11

I have configured up 3 VLANs using Luci. These are correctly added to /etc/config/network and “uci show | grep switch” shows the entries I’d expect. However only 2 VLANs are correctly configured. The 3rd can be brought up with a manual invocation of “swconfig”. I’ve tried the same thing on an DGN3500 (VR9 platform), also with LEDE 17.01.4, and it works there, leading me to suspect this is a kernel issue with the VRX200 driver.

The switch config in /etc/config/network looks like:

config switch
	option name 'switch0'
	option reset '1'
	option enable_vlan '1'

config switch_vlan
	option device 'switch0'
	option vlan '1'
	option vid '3'
	option ports '0 4 5t 6t'

config switch_vlan
	option device 'switch0'
	option vlan '2'
	option ports '2 6t'
	option vid '4'

config switch_vlan
	option device 'switch0'
	option vlan '3'
	option ports '1 5t 6t'
	option vid '5'

Running “swconfig dev switch0 load network” leads to the following switch config:

VLAN 1:
	vid: 3
	enable: 1
	ports: 0 4 5t 6t
VLAN 2:
	vid: 4
	enable: 1
	ports: 2 6t

No other VLAN stanza are shown but ‘swconfig dev switch0 vlan 3 show’ shows that while no ports have been added VLAN ID 5 has been correctly configured:

VLAN 3:
	vid: 5
	enable: 1
	ports:

Manually executing “swconfig dev switch0 vlan 3 set ports ‘1 5t 6t’” brings up the VLAN as expected:

VLAN 3:
	vid: 5
	enable: 1
	ports: 1 5t 6t

uci shows the correct details (uci show | grep switch):

network.@switch[0]=switch
network.@switch[0].name='switch0'
network.@switch[0].reset='1'
network.@switch[0].enable_vlan='1'
network.@switch_vlan[0]=switch_vlan

16.01.20181278Base systemBug ReportVery LowLowFirewall fails to load properly for Openvpnlede-17.01Unconfirmed Task Description

- x86_64 device
- LEDE 17.01.1
- Openvpn 2.4.4-2

I have setup Openvpn using TUN server method, as per https://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/howto/vpn.openvpn

Clients are able to connect and ping the tun0 IP, however cannot connect to anything on the lan. The problem appears to be the firewall script is unable to resolve tun0 interface, so skips rules that requiring that interface.

root@LEDE:/etc/config# /etc/init.d/firewall restart
Warning: Section 'vpn' cannot resolve device of network 'vpn0'

To work around the problem, I have to manually insert the following iptables rules:

iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -o tun0 -j zone_vpn_postrouting
iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -i tun0 -j zone_vpn_prerouting
iptables -A INPUT -i tun0 -j zone_vpn_input
iptables -A OUTPUT -o tun0 -j zone_vpn_output
iptables -I FORWARD 9 -i tun0 -j zone_vpn_forward

Once those rules have been inserted, everthing works perfectly!

This issue may relate to External LinkFS#1024

This is the ‘vpn0’ entry in /etc/config/networks:

config interface 'vpn0'

11.01.20181266Base systemBug ReportVery LowMediumsysupgrade-x86 should detect boot partition properlyTrunkUnconfirmed Task Description

Currently it’s hard-coded into /lib/preinit/79_move_config as:

move_config() {
	local partdev

	. /lib/upgrade/common.sh

	if export_bootdevice && export_partdevice partdev 1; then
		mkdir -p /boot
		if mount -t ext4 -o ro,noatime "/dev/$partdev" /boot; then
			if [ -f /boot/sysupgrade.tgz ]; then
				mount /boot -o remount,rw,noatime
				mv -f /boot/sysupgrade.tgz /
				mount /boot -o remount,ro,noatime
			fi
			mount --bind /boot/boot /boot
		fi
	fi
}

that the first partition of the boot device is the boot partition. That’s not always the case, and EFI seems to break this.

Also, it’s an obstacle to supporting A/B image+config boot modes.

08.01.20181263KernelBug ReportVery LowMediumArcher C7 Periodic 2.4G WiFi Failure (ath10k_pci failed...lede-17.01Unconfirmed Task Description

We run 17.01.4 (with latest package updates) on Archer C7 (4.4.92 mips / ath10k)

We have several similar ArcherC7s that experience a periodic disconnect on 2.4G band. We are fairly certain it occurs on all of them, though about 5 of them actively see this issue where we have to deal with it.

The result is no 2.4G devices can connect (no issue with 5G) until we execute “wifi” or reboot the ArcherC7s.

We have applied a cron job that runs each night and executes “wifi” to workaround this issue since 17.01.2 but believe it may have been present since 17.01.1. It is still present in 17.01.4 unfortunately so we have decided to commit some time to resolving.

In one of our office locations, to monitor this bug with the hope of oneday resolving it, we do not run the cron job, and only have two 2.4G devices connected.

On this device where we have to manually intervene to work around the problem, in the last 52 days (current uptime), the 2.4G failure has happenened three times.

Between the 1st and 2nd occurence we saw these SWBA messages in our dmesg.

[2506537.784853] ath: phy1: DMA failed to stop in 10 ms AR_CR=0×00000024 AR_DIAG_SW=0×02100020 DMADBG_7=0×00028800 [2506539.854485] ath10k_pci 0000:01:00.0: SWBA overrun on vdev 0, skipped old beacon

Before each occurence of the 2.4G failure, at some point we see these messages noting the three different timestamps:

[290147.737347] ath10k_pci 0000:01:00.0: failed to parse phyerr tlv payload at byte 0
[463582.984526] ath10k_pci 0000:01:00.0: failed to parse phyerr tlv payload at byte 0

[4541500.990587] ath10k_pci 0000:01:00.0: failed to parse phyerr tlv payload at byte 0

The only other message that jumps out in the dmesg is the one below, but like thw SWBA, it is not associated with each occurence.

[3311103.068324] ath: phy1: Unable to reset channel, reset status -5

The 2.4G clients are a D-LINK DCH-S150 motion detector (70:62:b8:93:98:b8) and a Google Chromecast (6C:AD:F8:4B:A3:52)

There is not much else in the dmesg (which I have attached), other then the bridge changes that occur when we execute “wifi” to resolve the issue which help identify which messages occur before resolving the issue each time (which can be days later as we only really notice when Chromecast is offline and we are trying to use it).

Nothing jumps out of our logread (and has not in the past), but typically the buffer has wrapped (as was the case today) and provided no messages related to the 2.4G clients.

Our 2.4G config is below, noting we do have a 40Mhz wide config enabled leveraging ht_coex and htmode.

02.01.20181252Base systemBug ReportVery LowLowNo IP Assigned to Interface with QMI on Quectel EC-25ATrunkAssigned Task Description

I’m attempting to use QMI on a GL.Inet MiFi equipped with a Quectel EC-25A cellular modem.

When I configure the interface using qmi I am able to connect to the cellular network at the radio layer, however my wwan0 interface is not assigned an IP address. Here’s my configuration from /etc/config/network:

  config interface 'modem'
          option proto 'qmi'
          option ifname 'wwan0'
          option device '/dev/cdc-wdm0'
          option country 'country11'
          option apn 'inet.bell.ca'

And some commands showing the device behaviour. You’ll note that raw_ip needs to be set to Y. I’ve integrated this [patch](https://github.com/bmork/LEDE/commit/10aed12fa587e818e4dc5d0db54545623fbe9b5f) to have qmi.sh set the raw_ip mode when required.

If I manually use the uqmi command to connect to the cellular network I can then drive the wwan0 interface using dhcp successfully. Here’s my /etc/config/network.

  config interface 'modem'

I believe that for some reason the dhcp client isn’t being run on the wwan0 interface by qmi.sh once it’s online but I’m not able to determine how this is supposed to work. I’m eager to address this issue and submit the resulting patches. Please let me know if you can help.

Ubnt Nanostation Loco M2 - WDS link drops out after a few hours
I have a pair of Nanostation Loco M2 access points setup as a wireless bridge over a ~1300 foot (~400M) line of sight link.
I have had LEDE 17.01.3, 17.0.4 and OpenWrt SNAPSHOT r5499-575178e / LuCI Master (git-17.343.27587-8e6b1a6).

One is setup as a WDS AP and the other is setup as a WDS Client, after a few hours (4-12 hours?) the link drops out but still says that is connected (if I go to status it shows the other AP as connected but I cannot ping or do anything else across the link).
If I restart the wireless service on the client, the connection comes right back and all is well for a 4-12 hours.
Anyone have any suggestions on where to look? Below are the kernel and system logs for the time period in question:

18.12.20171230Base systemBug ReportVery LowHighADSL connection can't be established on Arcadyan ARV751...lede-17.01Unconfirmed Task Description

I have an Arcadyan ARV7518PW ADSL router on which I flashed U-Boot, and installed different versions of OpenWrt and LEDE. I only manage to get an ADSL connection with OpenWrt 14.07, and not on OpenWrt 15.05.1, LEDE 17.01.3 and LEDE 17.01.4.

I checked that the DSL firmware in /lib/firmware is identical in all these versions. I installed the packages in different ways (direct upload using httpd from U-Boot, upgrade from other version), even on different routers (I have 3 of these), with consistent results.

Please let me know whatever information you’d like me to add.

13.12.20171224Base systemBug ReportVery LowLowDuplicate ICMP and ARP responses via several VLANslede-17.01Unconfirmed Task Description

My setup:
I have a TP Link WRT3600 with LEDE 17.01.4 (bug appeared in earlier versions as well, at least in 17.01.3 and 17.01.2). The router is connected to a manageable switch via VLAN trunk. The trunk consists of 4 VLANs with the IDs 1, 10, 11 and 12. LEDE’s IP and the switch’s management IP are located in VLAN 1. There are other switches connected to the first switch, also via VLAN trunk. Each VLAN has their own /24 IPv4 subnet in the format 192.168.<VLAN-ID>.0/24.

The phenomenon:
A device in VLAN 10 or 12 pings the switch. tcpdump confirms that the switch is sending exactly one reply per request. However, the device receives duplicate pings (for now, 2 duplicates and a valid response). A check with tcpdump running on the LEDE router sniffing on eth0.1 receives the valid reply as well. A check with tcpdump on the router sniffing on eth0 in general shows the duplicates as well. The duplicates go away when i ping from the LEDE explicitly on eth0.1, but re-appear when i ping without an explicit ethernet device to use. tcpdump shows me even more: The valid response is marked VLAN 10 with the pinging device as target address. One duplicate is marked VLAN 10 with the same target address as well, but the second duplicate is marked VLAN 12 but with the pinging device as target address, which is an IP located in VLAN 1’s subnet. The pinging client receives all three answers.

This is also happening for ARP requests. The LEDE router makes an ARP request for the switch’s management MAC address and replicates the answer to VLANs 10 and 12, so that these VLANs/subnets receive ARP answers they didn’t request.

This only happens for this particular switch. The other trunked switches have no replicated answers when they get pinged. This only happens for VLANs 10 and 12, VLAN 11 is not affected, there is no duplicate addressing it. I tried to create more VLANs, but the number of duplicates doesn’t increase. I tried to move all the stuff from VLAN 12 to VLAN 14, and the duplicate change their destination to VLAN 14 as well. When i start a ping and observe it in my terminal window, and deactivate one of the interfaces for either VLAN 10 or 12, the number of replicates decreases.

And last but not least: I started a ping and observed it in the terminal. Remember, it goes from VLAN 10 to VLAN 1. I created a firewall rule which should block all incoming ICMP responses from VLAN 1 back to VLAN 10. Nevertheless, with the rule activated, i still got three responses for each request, as if the firewall rule wasn’t in place at all.

The switch i was pinging the whole time was an Allied Telesis GS950/24. This phenomenon happens with other routers running OpenWRT Chaos Calmer 15.01 as well (namely a TP Link WR841n)

26.11.20171194Base systemBug ReportVery LowLowLED Names Wrongly Assigned For TP-Link TL-WA850RElede-17.01Unconfirmed Task Description

Version: 17.01.4-ar71xx-generic-tl-wa850re-v1 created using the image builder. Added and removed some packages for the actual build, none of which should be related to the issue

Device: TP-Link TL-WA850RE(EU) Ver. 1.0

What does not work: LED names on the “LED Configuration” page do not match the physical LEDs on the device.

Steps to reproduce: Attempt to configure LED triggers on the configuration page after a fresh installation on the device

Workaround: Configure the LED triggers by using the ostensibly wrong LED name to match the correct physical LED.

Additional information: There are nine physical LEDs present on the device. The following is a list of the physical LEDs with their labels and the currently matching “LED name” from the configuration page. The order is clockwise, starting at the 12 o’clock position:

  1. WLAN 5 [highest] → tp-link:blue:signal1
  2. WLAN 4 → tp-link:blue:lan
  3. WLAN 3 → tp-link:blue:lan
  4. WLAN 2 → tp-link:blue:wlan

25.11.20171192Base systemBug ReportVery LowHigh2.4Ghz wifi AP on mt7621 / Afoundry EW1200 doesn't workTrunkUnconfirmed Task Description

Hi LEDE folks!

I’m running the latest snapshot (r5406-5e6792e) of LEDE on an Afoundry EW1200. It’s a vast improvement from the stock firmware - my heartfelt gratitude to the author(s) of the port.

There’s one problem. 5Ghz wifi works fine but 2.4Ghz doesn’t. It detects my 2.4Ghz device and when I hit “scan” in LuCI it returns a list of nearby SSIDs.

But when I try to configure the device as an access point it isn’t visible to any of my devices. I’ve tried various channels / settings but nothing makes a difference.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Install LEDE r5406-5e6792e snapshot (latest at the time of writing) on an Afoundry EW1200
2. Use opkg to install LuCI [NB: I don’t think LuCI is to blame; it’s just the interface I use]
3. In Network/Wireless hit “Scan” for “Generic MAC80211 802.11bgn” and verify it can detect other people’s networks
4. Back in Network/Wireless, hit add (or edit) to configure an access point on that device. Use any settings you like.

On LEDE Reboot 17.01.4 r3560-79f57e422d (AMD64) Intel 3160 AC fails to load module after installing the following packages:

kmod-iwlwifi iwlwifi-firmware

(Maybe less relevant information):
The system is a BIOS-mode KVM guest with host-passthrough enabled for the CPU.
The CPU for the host system is an Intel E3-1260L which supports Intel VT-d for PCI-e passthrough so the Intel 3160 AC is accessible via LEDE.
This was not an issue in OpenWRT’s snapshot trunk branch running kernel 4.4.14, however I upgraded to LEDE as it supports more for what I need.

After the work done for issue  FS#804 , the rcu_sched error seemed to be gone. However, I am now starting to see it again. Usually, at least for me, the error happens when there is large amounts of traffic and I do something with the network. My most reliable way for reproducing the error is as follows:

- Use iperf to flood a router with small packets. Other ways to stress the CPU also work, I for example triggered the error when I added very aggressive logging to the firewall.
- While the router is being flooded, I restarted networking (I am logged in to the router via UART).
- After a couple of network restarts, the error is trigger and the following is written to syslog at some interval:

I am also able to sometimes trigger the issue by simply issuing the reboot-command (while the CPU is stressed). I have not applied any traffic shaping to my interface, and I see the error both with kernel 4.4 and 4.9 (i.e., LEDE 17.01 and master). I don’t quite know how to progress in debugging this.

14.11.20171169Base systemBug ReportVery LowMediumTP-Link Archer C7 no Wan on intial bootupTrunkUnconfirmed Task Description

On initial bootup my Tp-Link Archer C7 v2 will not get a WAN address using the LEDE firmware. Although the cable is connected and there is a link light the WAN interfaces for v4 and v6 simply say “notconnected”. A manual disable/enable does not resolve the problem the only fix is a physical disconnect and reconnect of the ethernet cable to the WAN interface on the router.

Some other information.
This happens with my Comcast ISP via a cable modem pulling a dhcp and a IPv6-PD address. (Neither comes up)
The connection is a gigabit ethernet connection via a known good cable (tested via a Fluke cable tester).
I have tried multiple modems (Netgear, and 2 Motorola modems)

This happen with any version of LEDE I have tried.

06.11.20171152Base systemBug ReportVery LowHighWDR3600: Wifi randomly turns off and get disabledlede-17.01Unconfirmed Task Description

Running LEDE 17.01.4

I’m not sure how do I reproduce this problem, it just happen randomly at random time.

This never happened back when I used OpenWRT, were there some regression somewhere?

So with LEDE, my router’s wifi randomly disconnect and disable itself. I have read the logs (provided below) yet I can’t see anything suspicious. I only see these:

Mon Nov 6 13:54:45 2017 daemon.notice procd: /etc/init.d/network: 'radio0' is disabled
Mon Nov 6 13:54:45 2017 daemon.notice procd: /etc/init.d/network: 'radio1' is disabled
Mon Nov 6 13:54:45 2017 daemon.notice procd: /etc/init.d/network: 'radio0' is disabled
Mon Nov 6 13:54:45 2017 daemon.notice procd: /etc/init.d/network: 'radio1' is disabled

This was around the time people in my home messaged me that they cannot find the access point from their devices

It bugs me because I usually go to the office in the afternoon and people in my house complains to me that Wifi stops working without anything being done to the router, I have not set up VPN access to my home network so I cannot do anything until I go home in the evening.

I also found some very old OpenWRT patches (1)(2) for whom I don’t know if they were ever integrated in master.
I’m not a developer myself, so I don’t even know how to integrate patches to try them out.

I also created a forum thread if anyone has some more tips or ideas.

04.11.20171146Base systemBug ReportVery LowCriticalConstant wireless disconnects due to excessive missing ...lede-17.01Unconfirmed Task Description

D-Link DIR-320 B1, currently with Lede 17.01.4 (basically, default config).
Had no problems in years with 7 of my wireless devices (consoles, phones and tablets) in same room - everything works perfect.

But my new Android 6 tablet (Lenovo Tab 3 8 Plus) keeps losing network.
It can happen randomly - for example, I can notice that every 3 minutes in Google PlayStore, or only couple times per hour (maybe it happens more often, but I’m not checking something online that time).
And it seems, tablet doesn’t even notice that there is no network - signal strenght icon is there (filled icon - “connected”), but data is not transfered (no send/receive arrows).
If there was a download, then it stops and not trying to resume or restore connection.
Or, for example, Google PlayStore doesn’t say “wifi is off” - it just keeps trying to load page (rotating loading symbol).
Some time after it gets his connection back, or it much faster just to turn off/on wireless.

Router system log have this message: “disconnected due to excessive missing ACKs”.
I tried to add “disassoc_low_ack 0” and this error gone from log, but this not solved connection problem.
I tried to use another router DIR-300NRU6 with stock firmware - everything OK, not a single disconnect.

It looks like there is enough memory availible, where is the problem? Can someone explain it? With a sysctl -w vm.min_free_kbytes=0 the upgrade is possible.

01.11.20171138KernelBug ReportVery LowCriticalDeauthenticated Reason: 15=4WAY_HANDSHAKE_TIMEOUT on Wi...lede-17.01Unconfirmed Task Description

Supply the following if possible:
- Device problem occurs on
TP-Link Archer C7 (AC1750 version 2.0)

- Software versions of LEDE release, packages, etc.
LEDE Reboot 17.01.4 r3560-79f57e422d (newest release)

- Steps to reproduce
1) Set 802.11g radio as AP
2) Set 802.11a© radio as client for EDUROAM network with WPA2-EAP TTLS or PEAP (cipher CCMP) 802.11ac-80Mhz, fix channel (36), transmit power auto and country code DE (Germany)

3.1) Wait for 8:24 hours (or until the Maximum lifetime for PMKSA 70% of 43200 seconds reached and re-authentication is triggered)

   OR

3.2) install wpa-cli, ping to any host to test internet and invoke "reauthenticate" in wpa-cli (in this way, after one or many times "reauthentication" is invoked, the internet will be unusable until "reauthenticate" is invoked again)

Description:
This Problem exist since long time ago either with openwrt or lede on 802.11ac radio. If 8 hours 24 minutes duration of router operation lasted (according to default dot11RSNAConfigPMKLifetime=43200 and dot11RSNAConfigPMKReauthThreshold=70 in wpa_supplicant) and the router try to "refresh" its pmksa by reauthenticate again with radius server, it will be disconnected with reason 15 (four way handshake timeout). For some reasons I need to keep my router always connected without "regular unwillingly" disconnections (except if there are software update in EDUROAM AP side). This is the kernel messages:

Timestamps 25-47 are the initial boot of router and at 30269 the problem occurred. I can test this in quick way by installing wpa-cli and invoke reauthenticate command. The internet will be unusable even if the router still connected to AP. But by testing this way, I don't get "four way handshake timeout report message, except if I let the internet unusable for 15-30 minutes and the router is deauthenticated and reconnection occur automatically.

This are the system logs (the very first and the very last entries are before and after the problem occured):

Please help me. I will monitor this issue and make test if needed.

01.11.20171137PackagesBug ReportVery LowLowdnsmasq static hosts configuration should support clien...TrunkUnconfirmed Task Description

By design, dnsmasq does not assume that two requests from the same source MAC address are for the same client if their client-id is different. Put another way, the requester is effectively identified by a <MAC,client-id> pair. This is discussed in the dnsmasq FAQ http://www.thekelleys.org.uk/dnsmasq/docs/FAQ under the question “I’m network booting my machines, and trying to give them static DHCP-assigned addresses...”

As a result, a machine that has been assigned a static address, which first requests an IP address without sending a client-id, and later makes a request with a client-id, will not be given the assigned static IP in response to the subsequent request. (The static IP will bind to the initial <MAC,client-id> pair with the null client-ID.)

To resolve this, one of the following options could be implemented:

  1. Mention the problem in the documentation, and advise the user to append “,id:*” to the MAC address if they run into this issue. (This will cause issues for luci users because this will be considered a malformed MAC address, and luci will refuse to save changes.)
  2. The dnsmasq init script could always insert “,id:*” immediately after the mac address on the generated dhcp-host configuration line.
  3. The dhcp.host entry could be extended with an “allow-any-client-id” or “ignore-client-id” boolean, which, if selected, would cause “,id:*” to be inserted as above.
  4. The dhcp.host entry could be extended with an optional “client-id” field, which would allow an explicit DHCP client-id to be set for the host. That ID could be used instead of or in addition to the existing “mac” entry. Semantics would need to be defined to make sure that the handling is well-defined.

Whichever option is chosen, the documentation should be updated. If an entry is added to the dhcp.host schema, bugs should be filed on other DHCP server packages (e.g.: isc-dhcp-server-ipv4) so that they can also implement the new functionality.

31.10.20171133Base systemBug ReportVery LowMediumCan't set channels 12 and 13 on Raspberry Pi 3 in AP co...AllUnconfirmed Task Description

It is not possible to set up channel 12/13 on Raspberry Pi 3 in Wifi AP configuration. I get error “brcmfmac: brcmf_cfg80211_start_ap: Set Channel failed: chspec=4109, -20”.
Tested on 17.01.1 and latest snapshot (r5217-098afa1).
PS Raspbian works properly on 13 channel as AP.

31.10.20171130Base systemBug ReportVery LowLowAdd partial import for settingsTrunkUnconfirmed Task Description

Sometimes it’s very necessary feature. For example after upgrade from OpenWRT to LEDE my router works fine with default settings. But after import my configuration, DNS and DHCP IPv4 not working at all. And it’s hard to determinite what settings responsible for this, because you can only import all or nothing. I suggest add dialog with checkboxes to import configuration process.

28.10.20171121Base systemBug ReportVery LowMediummake image doesn't return failure if build failslede-17.01Unconfirmed Task Description

Supply the following if possible:
- Device problem occurs on
N/A

- Software versions of LEDE release, packages, etc.
17.01.4

- Steps to reproduce
Set up the imagebuilder and build an image with:

make -C $BUILDER_DIR/ image PROFILE="$PROFILE" PACKAGES="$PACKAGES" FILES="$PWD/$FILES_DIR" CUSTOMIZE_IMAGE_SCRIPT=$PWD/$ROUTER_MODEL.custom

Where $PACKAGES is a list big enough to make the image too big so that you get:

[mktplinkfw] *** error: images are too big by 1614 bytes

Observe that the exit status from the above make is still 0. That make should reflect that the build failed with a non-zero exit status.

25.10.20171113KernelBug ReportVery LowMediumUnknown symbol zlib_inflateAllUnconfirmed Task Description

I’ve experienced a strange issue with zlib_inflate on x84_64 system.
There is no zlib_inflate-related symbols at /proc/kallsyms and modules like btrfs couldn’t be loaded.

17.01 branch and the current master branch, both are affected.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Use attached config file (zlib_inflate-test-config). It’s almost default but I’ve set CONFIG_PACKAGE_kmod-fs-btrfs=y and some other options.
2. Compile LEDE:

make defconfig && make -j $(nproc)

3. Run qemu:

qemu-system-x86_64 -curses -kernel bin/targets/x86/64/lede-x86-64-ramfs.bzImage

4. Try to load btrfs module:

root@LEDE:/# modprobe btrfs
[ 23.345891] btrfs: Unknown symbol zlib_inflateInit2 (err 0)
[ 23.347096] btrfs: Unknown symbol zlib_inflate (err 0)

[ 23.348293] btrfs: Unknown symbol zlib_inflateEnd (err 0)

It’s not btrfs related but any module with zlib_inflate in it’s dependency list.

24.10.20171110Base systemBug ReportVery LowLowWifi unusable on HG556a using current trunkTrunkUnconfirmed Task Description

Supply the following if possible:
- Device problem occurs on: Huawei ECHOLIFE HG556a Type B
- Software versions of LEDE release, packages, etc: Current Trunk - Powered by LuCI Master (git-17.294.24601-59a4e40) / LEDE Reboot SNAPSHOT r5122-f7a6fd3153

- Steps to reproduce: reboot

I did an update to trunk and made a lede build for the HG556a type B the other day. I have two of these HG556a type B routers both configured as wireless repeaters. I made no changes to the config, I simply wanted the latest security patches installed on my wifi repeaters. The first HG556a connects to a WWAN router that broadcasts 802.11n only, the other WWAN router broadcasts legacy wifi modes and 802.11n. The first works perfectly. The second throws up numerous errors in syslog from boot time, reboot every few hours and repeatedly disconnects from clients and the WWAN router. See syslog below:
