13.10.20181893Base systemBug ReportVery LowHighRouting/NAT Offloading now working with VoIP/IPTV VLANsTrunkUnconfirmed Task Description

I’m using the latest build OpenWrt 18.06.1 r7258-5eb055306f / LuCI openwrt-18.06 branch (git-18.284.42397-55ebe88)

With ZBT-WG3526 (16M), MediaTek MT7621 ver:1 eco:3.

I’ve VLANs for VoIP and IPTV.

If I enable Routing/NAT Offloading (tried both options (software and hardware), it looks that this feature doesn’t allows the VoIP and IPTV traffic to work as it was doing previously.+

I know this is experimental and may be still needs some more testing, etc., but I just wanted to let the developers know about this issue, in case, they haven’t realized it.

29.10.20181917Base systemBug ReportVery LowHighMT7621 hw offloading crashingTrunkUnconfirmed Task Description

I’m using the latest build OpenWrt 18.06.1 r7258-5eb055306f / LuCI openwrt-18.06 branch (git-18.284.42397-55ebe88)

With ZBT-WG3526 (16M), MediaTek MT7621 ver:1 eco:3.

Using HW offloading makes systems unstable after less than 24 hours.

I’ve tested it during several days. Now using SW offloading seems to be working ok.

I’ve posted traces here:

02.11.20181926KernelBug ReportVery LowHighMTD partition offset not correctly mapped when bad eras...openwrt-18.06Requires testing Task Description

- Device problem occurs on

        Netgear R6220

- Software versions of OpenWrt/LEDE

        OpenWrt 18.06.1, r7258-5eb055306f

When OpenWrt detects a bad eraseblock, all following offsets are sifted by one.

I’ll try to explain better this issue with an example.
We have this situation in kernel log:

[ 2.853468] nand: device found, Manufacturer ID: 0xc2, Chip ID: 0xf1

[ 3.279423] [mtk_nand] probe successfully!

As you can see there are 2 bad eraseblocks. Let’s leave the last one, since it is at the end of the flash.
The kernel states that the ‘factory’ partition starts at 0x2e00000 (that’s correct), but in reality OpenWrt will search for the partition at 0x2e20000 (2e00000 + (1 * 128KiB)).
People that have 3 bad eraseblocks before the factory partition reported that their mtd4 (factory) partition content reflects what is in nand at 0x2e60000 (0x2e00000 + (3 * 128KiB)).
This issue led to the wrong belief that there is more than one flash layout for this device, as reported in OpenWrt device page too.
A rapid check with

sc_nand r

from U-boot prompt can confirm this behavior.

15.11.20181953Base systemBug ReportVery LowHighAsus RT N56U 5GHz radio doesn't work if 2.4GHz radio is...TrunkUnconfirmed Task Description

Version: 18.06.1
Asus RT N56U

When the 2.4GHz radio is enabled, the 5GHz radio does not function when both are set to US country code.

Steps to reproduce:
Set up radio 1 and radio 2 with US country codes.
Reboot.
Only the 2.4GHz radio will work.
If you disable the 2.4GHz and reboot, the 5GHz will work.

Any additional info you thinks is important:
Tried all workarounds listed.
More information about a bug in the original firmware fixed in Padavan’s firmware related to the 5GHz radio can be found here:
https://dev.archive.openwrt.org/ticket/17659.html#comment:23

Workaround:
Set the 2.4GHz radio country code to World (00) and reboot. Leave the 5GHz on US. Now both radios work.

20.12.20182015KernelBug ReportVery LowHighWi-fi repeater relayd stops working [mt7628 miwifi nano...openwrt-18.06Unconfirmed Task Description

Hi. I have a miwifi nano r1cl working as a relayd repeater. I’ve been using it for quite a long time with 18.06.1 with no issues at all. However I updated to OpenWrt 18.06-SNAPSHOT r7549-217219ee1d and I started having issues with wifi connectivity. At the beggining everything is well and runs just fine for like 5-10 minutes of usage, but then it stops working and I can’t connect to its wifi. If I have a look at the kernel log, I see lots of errors like these:

24.12.20182024Base systemBug ReportVery LowHighsysupgrade silently does nothing in case of active swap...TrunkUnconfirmed Task Description

Trying sysupgrade on my ZBT WE1026, with SD-Card installed, and swap file active on it, silently does not succeed.

However, as I am using ‘sysupgrade -v -n -f /tmp/some_pars.tar.gz /tmp/fw.bin’ the files from some_pars.tar.gz are applied to unmodified system, resulting in inconsistencies.

Doing swapoff before
sysupgrade fixed my problem.

sysupgrade should at least issue an error message, when it does not succeed.
As I suspect, that unsuccessful umount of my block device with swap-file open is the culprit.

26.12.20182026KernelBug ReportVery LowHighkernel ipq806x Oopsopenwrt-18.06Unconfirmed Task Description

Device: netgear,r7800
Version: 18.06.1

Steps to reproduce:
The crash will happen with 100% certainty, but what exactly causes the problem is a little hard to say. It looks like large internet frames on WAN interface somehow trigger the error.

The WAN interface (eth.2) is untagged, on the LAN ports besides 1 untagged VLAN, 3 untagged VLANs exist. Only (possibly) relevant extra installed package is ip-tiny; it isn’t used though for any custom configuration though.

From the syslog (from boot till Oops, seemingly non-related stuff redacted out):

07.01.20192051Base systemBug ReportVery LowHighDHCP not working properly. openwrt-18.06Unconfirmed Task Description

I have WRT3200ACM and also EX6150v2 both using openwrt 18.06.01. With their stock firmware, my IOT devices like Mi LED and Wemo will connect just fine. With OpenWrt, some devices just not getting IP from the router/AP. Also, relayd is not working when the main router is using OpenWrt. If I use stock firmware as main AP then all problem solved. Seems like something wrong with OpenWrt’s DHCP system. I have also tried 18.06 version.

TP-LINK Archer C7, OpenWrt 18.06.1 r7258-5eb055306f / LuCI openwrt-18.06 branch (git-18.228.31946-f64b152).

Use PPPoE for WAN. Set MTU to 1508.

Observe ifconfig result. MTU is set at 1492, it should be 1500.

Add

config interface ‘eth0’

option ifname 'eth0'
option mtu '1508'

to /etc/config/network, ensure PPPoE MTU (as above) is set to 1508 and restart the network/reboot the router.

Observe ifconfig result. MTU is set at 1500 as expected.

23.01.20192081Base systemBug ReportVery LowHighSnapShot Install for TP-Link Archer C20 AC750 Hardly Wo...openwrt-18.06Unconfirmed Task Description

Dear Colleagues:

1) I have been testing basic networking functions of OpenWrt 18.06.1 “full Install” version on the above captioned device since 2018-10-16. This was done through BIN file download and install process. The operations tested appeared to be fine.

2) I was instructed to try a “snapshot Install” version to see if a recent Kernel update (2018-12-14, see link below.) is performing as intended. Upon powering on this version in the existing test-bed, however, the DHCP client PCs (with Xubuntu OS) appeared to see the LAN service by having their addresses assigned and were able to get response from the gateway when PINGing it with 192.168.1.1. However, attempting to use a web browser to access the router homepage at 192.168.1.1 failed. Also, the PCs could not get PINGing response from one another. Perhaps the earliest tell-tail sign is that as soon as the router is powered on with the “snapshot version”, the 2.4G WiFi status indicator LED is turned on, while the “full Install” version does not.

3) To verify, I downloaded and installed both full and snapshot versions of current BIN files from the OpenWrt website today and verified their integrity by checking the check-sums first. The above symptoms appeared to be repeatable after going through the processes a couple cycles alternating between the two versions.

Thanks for your attention,

05.02.20192101Base systemBug ReportVery LowHighWDS bridge and PPPoE MTU problemAllUnconfirmed Task Description

Device: Netgear R7800
This issue is not present with original Netgear firmware and is not present with LEDE 17 (older kernel).

Preface:
I have very strange issue with interfaces MTU and it looks to be introduced with newer kernel (4.14).

My network is attached as a png:
1. my ISP uses VDSL, i just have a PPPoE (MTU=1492) on the ethernet interface through the ISP modem
2. all other internal clients and routers interfaces have MTU=1500

Ping from R7800 to 1.1.1.1 with 2000 packet size and fragmentation allowed = success
Ping from ArcherC7v2 to R7800 with 2000 packet size and fragmentation allowed = success
Ping from PC1 to R7800 with 2000 packet size and fragmentation allowed = success
Ping from PC2 to R7800 with 2000 packet size and fragmentation allowed = success
Ping from PC1 to 1.1.1.1 with 2000 packet size and fragmentation allowed = failure
Ping from PC2 to 1.1.1.1 with 2000 packet size and fragmentation allowed = success

Now the fun part:
Ping from PC1 to 1.1.1.1 with 1473 packet size and fragmentation allowed = failure
Ping from PC1 to 1.1.1.1 with 1472 packet size (1492-20) and fragmentation allowed = success

It seems a WDS (4addr) problem combined with PPPoE being at MTU=1492 at this point, but:
Ping from ArcherC7v2 to 1.1.1.1 with 2000 packet size and fragmentation allowed = success

I’ve messed up with MTU on all the interfaces, the only thing that fix the issue is setting the br-lan interface of the R7800 to MTU=1491, as soon as the bridge has MTU>1491 the pings fail.

10.02.20192114Base systemBug ReportVery LowHighWG302v1 (ixp4xx-generic) LAN (eth0) start and then stop...openwrt-18.06Unconfirmed Task Description

Hello

Device: Netgear WG302v1 ixp4xx
FW: 18.06.1 & 18.06.2

Device problem occurs at boot.
During boot LAN (eth0) become ready (LEDs are lit) and then stop after ~2 or ~3 seconds (LEDs are off).
WAN (radio) interface seems working but Ethernet (eth0) is down.
Impossible to get it up because ifconfig up have no effect.

No packages are installed only stock zImage and Shashfs.

With 18.06.1 (default config, IP after flashing) :
OpenWRT say that ethO is up and ready but eth0 and LEDs are off.
Impossible to reach LuCi or ping a computer with IP 192.168.1.10 (connected through serial console on device)
At boot eth0 stay up sometimes ~ 1 of 20.

With 18.06.2 (default config, IP after flashing) :
It seems there are more information during boot.
Kernel is reporting that br-lan: port 1(eth0) entered disabled stat
ifconfig up/down has no effect.

Step to reproduce:
Flash & boot.

You can find included as attached file 18.06.1 & 18.06.2 dmesg boot log.

Kind Regards

Description below:

This is a decade-old suggestion I’ve held within and I really hope the words will gather enough attention and momentum of the dev team. Streight to the conclusion, two pre-configured firewall-zones IMHO should be renamed from “lan” to “internal” and “wan” to “external” respectively. There are a few reasons for which I confidently feel this should be done. I’d like to argue that this is important if not essential because;
a.)Those who prefer making changes to current configurations by editing /etc/config/*, using stuff like “sed -i ‘s/before/after/g’ ${file}” (and then proceeding to reboot) is powerful and is almost mistake-free. checking for config-mistakes using grep is also powerful (and this applies to folks using uci CUI tool as well). What I do now is rename these two zones from GUI and then proceed to these steps, and it works great but having to take this extra step is rather inconvenient if not annoying.
b.)Current presets for interfaces have IPv4-WAN named as “wan” and IPv6-WAN named as “wan6” where the IPv4-WAN‘s label “wan” is no different from the firewalled-zone labeled as “wan”. This is simply comfusing. In early days when I I had just heard about the OpenWrt and had started messing with releases like Kamikaze,I had hard times understanding which string corresponded to which (sure you may argue this is documented in details but things don’t work like that for newbies).
c.)If needs for either firewall-zones or the interface-labels to be renamed are understood, I’d then have to say I’m against renaming interface-labels because those who’d decide to use VLANs would most likely name the interfaces as “config interface ‘vlan_ID’” and the string lan would stay in there.

I hope the above proposal is powerful enough...

So the firmware knows there is an additional port in the switch, it’s just Luci that does not display it.

For extra info, here’s the OpenWRT version I am running:

BusyBox v1.30.1 () built-in shell (ash)

Thanks in advance for your help with this, very appreciated.

27.02.20192150KernelBug ReportVery LowHighCrashlogs are empty/borken - TD-W8970 v1AllUnconfirmed Task Description

Device TD-W8970 v1.
Lot of crashes, all does not produce anything on logs (even tried to crank up log levels and saving to USB, to be sure to read last lines logged, but no errors is shown).
After the automatic reboot I can see the message

Crashlog allocated RAM at address 0x3f00000

with logread.
No log file is generated inside

/sys/kernel/debug

.
I compiled a custom image with

/dev/mem

enabled and dumped the memory after 0x3f00000 (basically last MB of ram available) and I can only see the bytes “A1 EE DE AD” followed by ~1KB of “00” and after that probably other programs code.

In this thread there is the full explanation about how this device is currently unstable, and having no logs available makes debugging x10 times harder..

05.03.20192162Base systemBug ReportVery LowHighLinksys 3200ACM stop to function, no connection out of ...openwrt-18.06Unconfirmed Task Description

Supply the following if possible:
- Device problem occurs on Linksys WRT 3200ACM
- Software versions of OpenWrt/LEDE release, packages, etc.
OpenWrt 18.06.2 r7676-cddd7b4c77 / LuCI openwrt-18.06 branch (git-19.020.41695-6f6641d)
+ IGMProxy (followed this tuturial https://oldwiki.archive.openwrt.org/doc/howto/udp_multicast)
- Steps to reproduce

I have a large network with arround 200 Virtual Machines connected to the router, this router is great and looks like it can handle all of my VMs easly (my ISP router break after 80VMs) but out of nowhere sometimes the router stop to function, I cannot connect to it from LAN or WLAN. I am not sure if this is related with the VMs or if it is another issue

I had remote logs active, and the last time this ocurred I got this from the logs:

Right after I reset the router power I did an logread and could get this:

06.03.20192166Base systemBug ReportVery LowHighOpenwrt 18.06.2 build fails when ext4 is not chosen as ...openwrt-18.06Unconfirmed Task Description

upply the following if possible:
- Raspberry Pi Zero
- 18.06.2
- Go into menu, choose only ‘squashfs’ with defaults and bcm2708 as target. The ‘rootfs’ option disappears, and the build script fails with make world:

Output follows:

./gen_rpi_sdcard_img.sh /data/openwrt/build_dir/target-arm_arm1176jzf-s+vfp_musl_eabi/linux-brcm2708_bcm2708/tmp/openwrt-brcm2708-bcm2708-rpi-squashfs-factory.img.gz /data/openwrt/build_dir/target-arm_arm1176jzf-s+vfp_musl_eabi/linux-brcm2708_bcm2708/tmp/openwrt-brcm2708-bcm2708-rpi-squashfs-factory.img.gz.boot /data/openwrt/build_dir/target-arm_arm1176jzf-s+vfp_musl_eabi/linux-brcm2708_bcm2708/root.squashfs 20
+ '[' 4 -eq 5 ']'
+ echo 'SYNTAX: ./gen_rpi_sdcard_img.sh <file> <bootfs image> <rootfs image> <bootfs size> <rootfs size>'
SYNTAX: ./gen_rpi_sdcard_img.sh <file> <bootfs image> <rootfs image> <bootfs size> <rootfs size>

Looks like the script isn’t passing proper paramaters unless I select ext4 image as well as squashfs image.

10.03.20192176KernelBug ReportMediumHighubiquiti loco xw (AR9342 Rev.2) stops receiving on wire...AllNew Task Description

This bug has been existing as long as the ubiquiti loco xw 5 ghz hardware is around, probably what we are dealing with is a hardware bug in the AR9342 Rev. 2 chip. It is somehow hard to reproduce, but it hits us reliable every couple of hours, sometimes days, running any version of OpenWrt up to todays master branch. It just happened again and this time I decided to check if the bug is actually listed on FS – in addition to creating the usual cron-job executing `iw dev wlan0 scan` every minute. There is even a watchdog in the community libremesh repository designed to catch exactly this bug:
https://github.com/libremesh/lime-packages/blob/master/packages/cotonete/Makefile#L21

So to run into it, here we got 2 ubiquiti nanobeam m5 devices running OpenWrt ar71xx/generic loco-m-xw pointing at each other over a distance of roughly 2km. This link is acceptable, but not perfect and slightly asymmetric.

Device A (worse RX SNR):

Station f0:9f:c2:xx:xx:7a (on wlan0-mesh)

Device B (better RX SNR)

Station fc:ec:da:xx:xx:8c (on wlan0-mesh)
	inactive time:	20 ms
	rx bytes:	23442553203
	rx packets:	16047526

	signal avg:	-71 [-78, -73] dBm
	Toffset:	18446744068821653812 us
tx bitrate:	57.8 MBit/s MCS 11 short GI
rx bitrate:	43.3 MBit/s MCS 10 short GI
	last ack signal:24 dBm
	expected throughput:	24.536Mbps
	mesh llid:	0
	mesh plid:	0
	mesh plink:	ESTAB
	mesh local PS mode:	ACTIVE

	MFP: yes

	DTIM period:	2
	beacon interval:100
	connected time:	18179 seconds

Now it so happens that device A (and always only device A!) becomes deaf after some hours of mostly sending lots of traffic to device B. It will continue to send beacons, but loose all associations. device B will keep trying setting up a link, but it keeps ending up in ‘BLOCKED’ state and dumps using a monitor mode interface show that device A simply doesn’t react at all to any of the frames send by device B. A simple `iw dev wlan0 scan` on device A (which doesn’t give any results) fixes the problem.

The channel seems rather unused otherwise and signal quality only varies by weather conditions. Interestingly this seems to happen on non-DFS channels only. And it happens on Ad-Hoc mode (unencrypted, never tried encrypted) and 802.11s (open ie. setup via `iw` tool as well as with SAE ie. running `wpa_supplicant`) equally. It doesn’t happen on all nodes, but only on those with rather bad signal or at least one far-off neighbor.

Maybe related to FS#1246

I saw this occuring on ubnt nanostation loco m5 XW as well as on all nanobeam m5 variants (which is supposedly compatible with the loco-m-xw image).

17.03.20192192Base systemFeature RequestVery LowHighEFI compatible images neededopenwrt-18.06Unconfirmed Task Description

Currently we are only getting msdos based images for x86_64. Much of the new hardware for that platform is increasingly only UEFI based. Some motherboards allow for a CSM (bios) boot, but not all. I know there is a workaround documented in the wiki, but I was unable to get it to work.

With x86_64 hardware we can get much greater openvpn speeds vs an off the shelf router. This enhancement would be a win for all those wanting to build their own with newer more efficient hardware with excellent AES-NI support.

29.03.20192209Base systemBug ReportVery LowHighInconsistent behaviour of HOST_CONFIGURE_CMD vs CONFIGU...TrunkUnconfirmed Task Description

Target checks via:

if [ -x $(CONFIGURE_CMD) ]; then

yet host does:

if [ -x configure ]; then

So trying to use this, will fail for the target, but not for the host.

CONFIGURE_CMD = ./buildtools/bin/waf configure
HOST_CONFIGURE_CMD = ./buildtools/bin/waf configure

This results in

./buildtools/bin/waf: binary operator expected

for the target.

The check is flawed in both cases, the host does not check for the custom configure command and the target is doing a file check only, so you have to ensure the actual “configure” argument is first in the CONFIGURE_ARGS.

CONFIGURE_ARGS:=configure $(CONFIGURE_ARGS)

This is confusing and both cases should work similar and check for CONFIGURE_CMD and maybe we should add a CONFIGURE_CMD_ARGS variable, that can hold custom arguments.

01.04.20192216Base systemBug ReportVery LowHighath79 - eth0 Spasmodic Link Speed After Driver Changes?...TrunkUnconfirmed Task Description

I've built the latest version of OpenWRT with stock packages and configuration, however, after random amounts of time, all clients lose connectivity because the eth0 link speed drops from the regular 100 Mbps Full Duplex to 10 Mbps Half Duplex, only to reconnect again after a couple of minutes (seconds to mintes, it depends), and do it again at another random time.

The logs aren't very useful, it seems. Both syslog and dmesg show the same.

I suspect this started happening after this series of commits (ending with this one) where there were driver changes to the switch, as it didn't happen before I recompiled a new build with all those newer changes:

06.04.20192226Base systemBug ReportVery LowHighzyxel P-2812HNU-F1 initramfs has been broken with LZMA:...AllUnconfirmed Task Description

Supply the following if possible:
- Device problem occurs on

zyxel P-2812HNU-F1

- Software versions of OpenWrt/LEDE release, packages, etc.

since r47026 up to the latest trunk

- Steps to reproduce
boot with serial connection stop autoboot, load initramfs, boot from ram get error

- Reason it is important

initramfs is needed for a first install.

- Posible solution
include/configs/p2812hnufx.h
probably needs:
#define CONFIG_SYS_BOOTM_LEN 0×1000000 /* 16 MB */

like in this commit for a similar modem
https://git.openwrt.org/?p=openwrt/openwrt.git;a=commit;h=ea12a80276c0aca680d67515e7f651e2cef3f3ee

- error logs
“recent” trunk snapshot(I threw away the last compiled version for it still gave the same error)

- Software versions of OpenWrt/LEDE release, packages, etc.

- Steps to reproduce

With no client (NO-CARRIER) connected to the br-iface its ipv6 is not accessible whilst ipv4 is. Connecting a client to the br-iface and its ipv6 becomes accessible.

It would be expected that the br-iface is accessible not only via ipv4 but also ipv6 regardless of the Carrier state as long as the br-iface is up.

Comparing the ip routing tables of the different Carrier states it is apparent that NO-CARRIER state is short of a few routing entries pertaining to ipv6.

14.06.20192319PackagesBug ReportVery LowHighusbmode bug which is fixed in usb-modeswitch...openwrt-18.06Unconfirmed Task Description

I wrote a bug report but then the bug report said wrong token and I lost the report... :(

Now again but shorter version. The usb-modeswitch (which seems to be an openwrt project, a rewrite of original usb_modeswitch https://git.openwrt.org/project/usbmode.git ) needs to set some devices to config 0 before switching to config 3.

BTW this is fixed in usb-modeswitch... Here is the link to discussion about this:
http://www.draisberghof.de/usb_modeswitch/bb/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2710&start=22

Some devices need to be set to config 0 first to be able to switch to config 3. Otherwise they hang...

Here a working example:

root@OpenWrt:~# echo 0 > /sys/bus/usb/devices/1-2/bConfigurationValue
root@OpenWrt:~# echo 3 > /sys/bus/usb/devices/1-2/bConfigurationValue
root@OpenWrt:~# umbim -d /dev/cdc-wdm0 caps

A non-working example (after reboot):

root@OpenWrt:~# echo 3 > /sys/bus/usb/devices/1-2/bConfigurationValue
root@OpenWrt:~# umbim -d /dev/cdc-wdm0 caps
ERROR: mbim message timeout
root@OpenWrt:~#

At least one other person in OpenWRT bug tracker confirms this:
https://bugs.openwrt.org/index.php?do=details&task_id=1424

Although he has another problem with looping messages (probably unrelated to this bug)

19.06.20192330PackagesBug ReportVery LowHighSamba - smb.conf templating allows arbitrary injections...AllUnconfirmed Task Description

First, I have to say I’m not 100% sure it is something to be addressed within samba package itself, so forgive me if this is something you have already evaluated as not being an issue.

In short, something like that works:

 […]
    option workgroup 'WORKGROUP\
    security = share\
    guest account = root\
    interfaces = lo br-lan\
\
[ohnonotagain]'

I’m not sure this works in plain openwrt images, but there exists a widely deployed commercial fork of openwrt which is definitely vulnerable to some exploit chain involving this one in the middle.
You could argue that the right of modifying uci config already gives an equivalent authorization level, or this should have been sanitized at user interface. So, is this something you consider safe?

04.07.20192355KernelBug ReportVery LowHighlow ipsec throughput on ipq40xx platformTrunkUnconfirmed Task Description

The problem has been confirmed on gl-inet b1300 and Asus AC58u, latest snapshot and 18.06.2.

very low ipsec throughput under normal strongswan road-warrior configuration, but performance become reasonable after installing strongswan-mod-kernel-libipsec, it means bypass kernel’s ipsec stack.

For instance

# CONFIG_NFT_RT is not set

is the likely cause for

# nft add rule ip filter forward oifname ppp0 tcp flags syn tcp option maxseg size set rt mtu

to fail with: Error: Could not process rule: No such file or directory

reference https://wiki.nftables.org/wiki-nftables/index.php/Mangle_TCP_options

please enable the kernel conf in order nft can utilize its full potential, particularly since being dedicated to routers.

07.07.20192362KernelBug ReportVery LowHigh[btrfs] support for ACL not compiled inAllUnconfirmed Task Description

target mvebu

# mount -o ACL

producing BTRFS error (device): support for ACL not compiled in!

It is confusing that the repo offers ACL userland but globally disables support in the btrfs, with some exception patches for a few specific targets. It would be expected to be consistently enabled/supported globally for all boards.

16.08.201694Base systemBug ReportVery LowMediumnetifd: PPPoE MTU problemTrunkNew Task Description

When you set the MTU of a ppp interface with proto=pppoe and ifname=nas0 via the mtu option,
the configured mtu will not be set on the ppp interface (what you want), but on the
underlying interface named by ifname (what you normally don’t want to change).

This leeds to log messages like this:

pppd[5641]: Interface nas0 has MTU of 1448 – should be at least 1500.

and MTUs other than what you really want.

example:

desired PPPoE MTU: 1448
actual nas0 MTU: 1448
actual PPPoE MTU: 1440

This issue seems to be related to the commit 7ac29b75319fd69a8a7c0aeea7804d381ec07d3d of netifd.

Martin

24.08.2016115Base systemBug ReportVery LowMediumWWAN-connections using 3g with HUAWEI ME909u-521 unstab...TrunkUnconfirmed Task Description

Actually, I am trying to stabilize wwan (3g actually; LTE later on) using pppd with my HUAWEI ME909u-521,
because either my MT7620-based router locks up during boot already; or after short period of real usage.
During night, when router is almost idle, just some watchdog date sent via wwan, no problem.

First trace of a possible problem was this msg in logread:
daemon.notice netifd: wwan (1676): Error setting WWAN mode!

Wich is expected, as in /lib/netifd/proto/3g.sh:

...

elif echo "$cardinfo" | grep -qi huawei; then
                              case "$service" in
                                      umts_only) CODE="14,2";;
                                      gprs_only) CODE="13,1";;
                                      *) CODE="2,2";;
                              esac
                              export MODE="AT^SYSCFG=${CODE},3FFFFFFF,2,4" #####Will not work !!!!! Switching USB-Stick to 3g-preferred ?

...
...

                      [ -n "$MODE" ] && gcom -d "$device" -s /etc/gcom/setmode.gcom

Will not work, because the ME909u-521 rejects AT^SYSCFG . However, AT^SYSCFGEX will work, but having different syntax.
MODE=”AT^SYSCFG=${CODE},3FFFFFFF,2,4” will be effective for simpler modems.

/etc/gcom/setmode.gcom returns exit 1; but this error is not checked in 3g.sh

Not shure, whether this is the reason for my problems; however, reason of concern, as high speed modems
are more and more common.
Willing to participate in testing/debugging.

For details regarding my modem, consult

With LEDE version reboot-1444-g1bb914d, when pulling data through the WAN interface to the LAN interface at a sufficiently high speed, e.g. on a Raspberry Pi connected by ethernet to a LAN port, and the WAN interface connected to a gigabit internet service and issuing a command like:
