docplastic:

  • tree/revision: v.17.01.2, ramips, rt3883;

  • affected device: Edimax BR-6475ND;

  • What does it do: It gets stuck into an infinite boot loop;

  • Steps to reproduce:
    a) on a properly working LEDE v.17.01.0, do a standard upgrade to v.17.01.1 (both not keeping or keeping settings will get the same result);
    a) on a properly working openwrt V.15.05.1, do a standard upgrade to v.17.01.2 (both not keeping or keeping settings will get the same result);

  • What I have already done to fix the problem: To recover, one must put router into failsafe mode and sysupgrade to openwrt V.15.05.1 (file https://downloads.openwrt.org/chaos_calmer/15.05.1/ramips/rt3883/openwrt-15.05.1-ramips-rt3883-br-6475nd-squashfs.bin).

  • What does work: upgrade from openwrt 15.05.1 to LEDE 17.01.0 , we get a properly working router.

  • What does not work: upgrade from openwrt 15.05.1 or LEDE 17.01.0 to LEDE 17.01.2 or LEDE 17.01.1

  • What else does not work: erasing these report bugs without addressing the reported bug.

mkresin:

Seriously? Why do you open duplicate bug reports over and over again?

Have you ever had a look at FS#735? It isn't just your device that is affected by the bug. Beside other targets, the whole rt3883 target is affected by the bug and any work on the bug is tracked in FS#735.

Please go ahead and test the images I've linked in FS#735!

docplastic:

I do apologize for the distress, offense and disturbance my rude/stupid bug reports have obviously caused you. I won't repeat it and I hope you can forgive me.

I did not knew about the FS#735 bug. Unfortunately, even if I knew about that bug, I would have no way of knowing that it was related with Edimax hardware and/or Edimax BR-6475ND.

I am sure that a simple "look at FS#735 it also affects your hardware" from one of the Lede development team members would have been enough and would have stopped my other reports. I was just trying to help, not to spam or bother you in any other way.

Thank you,
D.
