Steps to reproduce:

  • clean buildroot configured for RE-450
    config.seed:
    CONFIG_TARGET_ar71xx=y
    CONFIG_TARGET_ar71xx_generic=y
    CONFIG_TARGET_ar71xx_generic_DEVICE_re450-v1=y
    [...]

  • try to flash resulting image to router won't go: wrong image!

  • try with "-F" works OK, but now you have an "TP-Link Archer C7 v3" ;-)

  • same applies to buildbot images

config.seed isn't the file that it used to configure the to be build image. It is .config.

Please paste the output of ./scripts/diffconfig.sh
