kroeckx:

I have an Netgear EX6150 (https://openwrt.org/toh/hwdata/netgear/netgear_ex6150) running 19.07.6, which is working fine if it boots.

But most of the time it fails to boot.

What I see with a successful boot:

  • power led stays amber for a while
  • power led goes out for a second
  • power led starts to blink green fast
  • power led starts to blink green fast
  • power led says green and device is up

When it fails:

  • power led stays amber for a while
  • power led goes out for a second
  • power led starts to blink green fast
  • power led starts to blink amber slow

While it's fast blinking green I can ping it on 192.168.1.1, which stops when it starts to blink green slow, since it's not it's static IP address. If it starts to blink orange I can keep pinging it.

The 2nd "- power led starts to blink green fast", should say slow instead of fast

The blinking amber led is an indication that's the device is in failsafe mode.

The failsafe mode seems to be triggered by the "Access Point/Extender" switch set to "Access Point", which is the active state.

Since it's a switch and not a button, it would be better that it didn't look at that switch to trigger failsafe. It also doesn't always trigger failsafe for some reason.
