Attempting to build images for malta/mipsel64 on current master fails during compile of binutils toolchain. This has occurred since recent OpenWRT commit 54124e1 ("toolchain: binutils: Use version 2.34 by default").

A log file of the build is attached, and a telltale error seems to be:
make[7]: *** No rule to make target 'elf64ltsmip.o', needed by 'ld-new'. Stop.

This build failure is blocking further testing of malta mips64 platforms with kernel 5.4.
