Supply the following if possible:

  • Device problem occurs on
    Linksys WRT1900ACS
  • Software versions of OpenWrt/LEDE release, packages, etc.
    OpenWrt 19.07.3 r11063-85e04e9f46
  • Steps to reproduce
On OpenWrt 19.07.3 r11063-85e04e9f46 as soon as I enable 802.11w Management Frame Protection on the interface where bonjour devices connect, bonjour traffic is blocked. I am using Tivoli Audio Art speakers and Raspberry 4 with OMV 5.

As a consequence I also cannot use WPA3 which requires 802.11w Management Frame Protection to be enabled.

I can confirm that the same happens with latest released:
OpenWrt 19.07.4 r11208-ce6496d796

As soon as 802.11w Management Frame Protection is enabled, or WPA3 or WPA3/WPA2 configuration is selected,
all bonjour / Avahi / ZeroConf devices are invisible.

I am checking it with Discovery MacOS and iPhone App

WPA3 or WPA3/WPA2 seems to set 802.11w Management Frame Protection to at least optional.

Not sure what we're supposed to do about it. You cannot use WPA3 / 802.11w in this case.
