FS#2856 - Wifi "dies" (hostapd drops all clients) on some ar71xx devices after days / months #7681
Comments
por: Do you really loose connectivity or are just the log lines that worry you? These messages are quite normal and do not imply connection losses per se. |
tizbac: Everyone looses connection association becomes impossible, beaconing keeps going |
tizbac: What i can try is trying to send probe requests to see if it is responsive to those at least, if it can help |
thatso: Sorry, I believe I've just created a duplicate of this issue as FS#2892. |
thatso: Is seems this problem got worse with 19.07.2. With previous versions, it happened about once a month. Lately, it strikes almost every day. |
Cmd-Q: I have the same problem with OpenWrt 19.07.2 (r10947-65030d81f3) on a NETGEAR WNDR3700v4. I have two SSIDs on wlan0 that are still beaconing after the stations lose connectivity. The problem is unpredictable and occurs between every three days to every week. There are no other hints in the system log.
Are there any additional logs that I can gather when the problem reoccurs? |
kvnnap: I have the same problem, hostapd drops all clients once or twice every week. Here's my setup: Model: TP-Link TL-WR941N/ND v2 |
ph1l: I may be experiencing something similar, Is there additional debugging I can enable? What can I provide to help out here? |
ph1l: Here's a redacted syslog from 19.07.4 running on a Bullet M2 (XW) I see there's a new version of the firmware so I'll update and wait for this to happen again ;-) |
tizbac:
This issue is very strange, i don't even know if it's just faulty hardware but i have it happening on multiple devices now
Most affected hardware
Nanobridge M5 , in this case transmitting enough data can trigger it almost instantly
TL-WR841ND , in this case i had it happen like 3-4 times a year
CPE 210 v3 , in this case it happens like each week
For the last one, which is running 19.07 i found on the system log
