Device: TP-Link Archer A7 (RU) Ver 5.0
Software: OpenWRT 19.07.0

I just bought this router. And I trying to flash it with openwrt-19.07.0-ath79-generic-tplink_archer-a7-v5-squashfs-factory.bin trough tftp.
In wireshark I clearly see that file was downloaded. But router didn't flashed.
I tried to flash snapshot image wtih same result.
I checked sha256 sums and it matches.

When I reproduced same steps with original TP-Link update image it worked well. Seems like something prevents router from flashing OpenWRT image.

I'd like to follow up on the issue. I suspect that's the TP-Link that released new firmware doing additional checks.

I have attempted the install with first flashing to the earliest version of the factory firmware, both US & EU. When installing OpenWRT via TFTP or through the web portal, the result is a bricked router that needs to be reflashed to factory via TFTP.

I have Archer A7 V5(RU) version. I was able to successfully flash custom made FW with a hack described in https://forum.openwrt.org/t/support-for-tp-link-archer-c7-v5-ru/28402
I changed special_id to 5255 as original author suggested. I did it via web interface on stock FW

If someone from developers can provide test FW (with additional special_id as I mentioned) I can test it on my device and give back any feedback. Thanks
