FS#2629 - iwinfo fails to query infos via nl80211 on Archer C7 v2 #8076
Comments
jow-: Please provide the output of “uci show wireless“ and “ls -l /sys/class/net“ and “./scripts/diffconfig.sh“ from the buildroot |
hexa-: Thanks for looking into this. Information below.
|
hexa-: As blocktrron discovered the problem is the interface name. radio0_vlan101 doesn't work while radia0_vlan101 works. Not sure what to make of this. |
jow-: Please try the attached patch. |
hexa-: Yep, that makes it work. Thank you. |
adrianschmutzler: Has this been fixed in master in the meantime? |
hexa-: Fixed in OpenWrt master in
commit 3026cfe172355f1d700e58ec279a208ca265dbf1

Iwinfo fails to query nl80211 and falls back to the generic wext interface and therefore offers little information.
I've attached the strace output in the file "out" and the config used to build this image.
root@OpenWrt:/tmp# strace -s 100 -f -o out -x $(which iwinfo)
