iptables v1.8.3 (legacy): can't initialize iptables table `filter': Table does not exist (do you need to insmod?)
Perhaps iptables or your kernel needs to be upgraded.
Thank you.

The MBL was switched over to the NAS device-type with apm821xx: MBL: set DEVICE_TYPE to NAS. It no longer ships with any of the firewall packages.
Hello. May I ask why? For network storage with private data security not important any more? How can I manually add firewall support?
By the way, that device has no wifi and no usb, so wifi support we can exclude from the build. But please add iptables back.
Thank you.
What do you mean here? The patch changes the device type from router (default from include/target.mk) to nas. This is because the MyBook Live is a NAS.
How can I manually add firewall support?
I don't know how to make this any clearer, but have you tried my suggestion to install the firewall(same name as in 17.01.x and 18.06.x) package yet? What was the result? And no, iptables is not the firewall package, instead it's just the "IP firewall administration tool" (userspace app/program frontend).
By the way, that device has no wifi and no usb, so wifi support we can exclude from the build.
I think you are a little careless with that assumption. See apm821xx: unify My Book Live Single + Duo images. The Image is for both the MyBook Live and MyBook Live Duo because Western Digital Vendor Image is for both as well. And I can tell you that the DUO Variant does have a real USB-Port. The wpad-basic support is from what I remember a homage to the "W" in OpenWrt. But if the wpad-basic and the packages is depends on rubs you the wrong way, then please make a patch that explains your case of getting rid of it and post it to the ML/github.
