Small correction to that: it builds on some of the old Openwrt buildslaves, but not on all of them.
Java is not an official prerequisite although the classpath package apparently needs it, and the compilation only succeeds on those slaves that have java. So, a platform may now have the compiled classpath package but after the next buildbot run (with a different buildslave) the package may show up as failed. That behaviour has been there for years.
This is something we cannot reasonably fix as we will and can not make Java a prereq of building LEDE. Also classpath is quite inactive upstream and seems to be widely considered obsolete.
I am closing this ticket as wontfix as it is unlikely to get acted upon in LEDE, OpenWrt or the packages feed.
ndoo:
Builds on OpenWrt buildbot fine but not LEDE, see end of faillog for missing JVM dependency/dependencies:
http://downloads.lede-project.org/snapshots/faillogs/i386_i486/packages/classpath/compile.txt
P.S. a Buildbot category may be necessary
