Pepe:

I haven't been able to find if someone already asked for commit access for OpenWrt packages this way as I want to follow the way, which is described in CONTRIBUTING.md and I found that paragraph was added in 12th August 2014. Let's see if this also works as I found created issues in packages repository, where someone requested commit access for some people.

For example,
openwrt/packages#5486
openwrt/packages#4372

I don't think that creating an issue in Github OpenWrt packages is a good way for requesting commit access, but if you want to do that, I'm just fine with that.

Perhaps, I should a little bit introduce myself and tell you why I'd like to have commit access.

My GitHub profile, where you can see that I'm a maintainer of a few community packages in OpenWrt like youtube-dl, python-dns, syslog-ng and a few waiting to be merged like python-qrcode, python-requests and python-paho-mqtt, which are included in Bigclown pull request. It will be useful to have it for my packages, so I wouldn't bother Hannu (hnyman) with almost everything, because I see this guy like most active in merging things there and I would like to help him.

There a few packages, which I'd like to have in community packages of OpenWrt, but they're new packages, which are not accepted very often. E.g. libyubikey, czmq and last mention were reviewed by two guys (Daniel known as diizzyy and Rosen known as neheb). These two guys are really active and useful for reviews, nobody else is doing that very often and it's a pity that packages afterward are not merged. Even I see issues like this about lacking maintainers.

What could be interesting is that I created two drafts as Pull Request for python-qrcode and python-curl, where I'm in the process to add support for mbedTLS.

If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them.
