Installing a new build on a RT-N56U (v1) via TFTP results in a unresponsive system stuck in a boot loop.
These messages appear on the console:

[ 2.377424] of-flash 1c000000.nor-flash: do_map_probe() failed
[ 4.615722] VFS: Cannot open root device "(null)" or unknown-block(0,0): error -6
Bisection determined that this boot loop began occuring with:
