Wow I totally hit enter waaaaaaaay too soon, super sorry.

There is a long standing bug apparently over 3 years old, from even openwrt on this device.

I am able to confirm that the fix from comment #8 @ on the old openwrt ticket 18680 does indeed solve the issue.

The issue is pretty painful, upon rebooting, or loss of power just on the LEDE device, it is unable to acquire a new/same ip from dhcp. Restarting the modem alleviates this issue but is obviously a total walk around the actual issue.

Moving the ports and swapping the wan/lan ifnames across completely solves this issue. The device reboots, grabs its old IP and all is well in the world

This now happens to me every update on my C7v2.

I regularly apply a snapshot when available and in the last few weeks I have had to restart the device by disconnecting power each time I update it... it never used to be like that.

I will try the fix in the other ticket.
