The same router, the same error for me. Mt external HDD drive is not recognized.

Please try editing ''/etc/modules.d/usb-storage'' to add ''quirks=VID:PID:u'' after ''usb-storage'' (on the same line). VID/PID must be of your UAS device. ''kmod-usb-storage-uas'' should be installed. Reboot for the changes to take effect.

Tamás, can you please check ''/sys/module/usb_storage/parameters/quirks'', did the parameter really get in there? If not, probably ''echo 357d:7788:u > /sys/module/usb_storage/parameters/quirks'' will do that, but until the reboot only.
I can't reproduce this issue as I have no compatible hardware, but I've read the kernel sources and the uas driver calls a function from usb_storage and that function checks the quirks table and the module arguments. Added quite some time ago: torvalds/linux@d24d481

i've made the check, and /sys/module/usb_storage/parameters/quirks was empty after a reboot. Unfortunately, putting 357d:7788:u to the file above didn't help at all, by reinitialising the usb device openwrt is still sticking with uas.
i've also tried with an other device, 174c:1153, but it has the same problem, and also the results are the same.

Fixed also 152d:1561 JMicron Technology Corp. / JMicron USA Technology Corp. JMS561U two ports SATA 6Gb/s bridge, commercial name "Sabrent EC-UASP"

echo 152d:1561:u >/sys/module/usb_storage/parameters/quirks fixed it without needing to reboot.

Adding it to /etc/modules.d/usb-storage made it persistent.

NOTE: I had to specify VID and PID with 0x prefix (to indicatte the hexadecimal notation).

How can one add multiple quirks in case more devices needed it? (I tried usb-storage quirks=<VID1>:<PID1>:u quirks=<VID2>:<PID2>, and also on multiple lines but only one quirk was being configured).

According to https://elixir.bootlin.com/linux/latest/source/drivers/usb/storage/usb.c#L496 0x shouldn't be needed (the numbers are always treated as hex) and the list of quirks is comma-separated (so you need just a single module argument).
