I think I found a solution - just compile kernel without applying target/linux/generic/patches-4.4/465-m25p80-mx-disable-software-protection.patch as suggested [[http://github.com//issues/518|here]].

Can anybody explain what this patch really changes and why should not be applied in stable branch?

Maybe it is worth to mention that this device has mx25l25635f flash chip on board.

After reading [[http://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/9118911/|this]] and [[http://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/9118901/|this]] I decided to try backport commits [[http://github.com/torvalds/linux/commit/32321e950d8a237d7e8f3a9b76220007dfa87544?diff=unified|32321e9]] and [[http://github.com/torvalds/linux/commit/edf891ef9ab773363f8e58022a26d7d31604aed6?diff=unified|edf891e]] from kernel 4.6 to kernel 4.4.

So I've created patch target/linux/generic/patches-4.4/049-mtd-spi-nor-wait-until-lock_unlock-operations-are-ready.patch (attached to this post).
The image compiled with this patch is bootable:
