Hi all
With snapshot r5117-fbde9ac, at least on a bananapi (cortex-a7) the USB ports are down, apparently there is some problem with VBUS (maybe DT problem?)
Here the dmesg after boot

Looking at the dmesg and compared it to a snapshot build I didn before the kernel bump to 4.9 it is clear that the problem is the lack of axp20x driver
The fact is that the dts looks perfect (converted back to the actual dtb loaded on the SD card), config-4.9 under target/sunxi is ok, also it seems that the .config used in the kernel source tree is the correct one, but still no driver loaded...
I would focus on the i2c now, but I am not sure if there is any kind of generic driver here

Problem found
The new AXP20X driver is now separated by the connection bus
So for bananapi (and other board, if not all...) it is required to set to yes CONFIG_MFD_AXP20X_I2C which is not in the current config-4.9
