On 18.06 that device had space and was free enough to at last save settings.

Now on 19.07 there isn't a space where you can write. It's just not there.

So ever time you reboot it forgot settings.

Do we consider supported a device that can't save settings?

Which image did you test? When I test-build images for 841 v12 (master), I do have a writeable file system.

This is a TL-WR841N/ND v9 not v12.

I tested this one:
openwrt-19.07.2-ath79-tiny-tplink_tl-wr841-v9

I'm now running 18.06. And I have 96.00 KB free. Enough to save settings.
openwrt-18.06.8-ar71xx-tiny-tl-wr841-v9

Since stable releases include luci and several other packages, there is not enough space on 4M devices. That's why squashfs images are not even build there. So, you need to built your own firmware with less content if you want to continue to use tiny devices for newer release branches.

I actually had in mind to build without luci but I forgot about that.

Thank you for the explaination. Hope it will work as a reminder for people that own the same device.

Moving to a newer device planned. :)
